WILLOWBRAE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN’S CLUB
- Another of those most successful and enjoyable whist drives which is one of the features of the Willowbrae Bowling Club, was held in the Freegardeners Hall Abbeymount, last night. About 160 ladies and gentlemen took part in the drive. Several of the ladies and gentlemen entertained the company, during the interval and while the cards were being checked, with music and songs. Before parting the secretary of the club informed the members that terms for the tenancy of the bowling green had been fixed up that evening, and that now the committee would settle down to arrange the affairs of the club for the coming bowling season. The Willowbrae Bowling Club is being run on rather new lines. Ladies will be seen bowling on the green and already there is a keen excitement among them as to who will turn out the champion lady bowler. Matches are to be arranged between the ladies and the gentlemen and we understand that the ladies are now spoiling for the fray. The secretary is Mr George Lyall, 20 Baronscourt Terrace to whom ladies and gentlemen who reside in the district and who wish to become members should apply.
